Dr. Perry Ong is recognized for his significant contributions to the knowledge and better understanding of the diversity of Philippine wildlife resulting in a greater public awareness and appreciation of the importance of this valuable biological resource in the whole ecosystem. Further, this has drawn the active participation of the academe, private sector and NGOs towards the management and conservation of our protected areas, including fauna and flora.
